Athletic. Powerful.
Breathtaking.
Blending dance technique with acrobatic elements. Flexibility, strength, balancing, and tumbling — teaching safe execution of skills integrated into choreography.
What is Acrobatics?
Acrobatics at NSOS is not gymnastics — it is the integration of athletic acrobatic skills within the vocabulary of dance. Students learn to execute cartwheels, walkovers, handstands, aerials, and more as expressive tools within choreographic contexts.
Safety is paramount. Our acrobatics curriculum follows a carefully structured progression that builds the necessary strength, flexibility, and body awareness before any skill is attempted. Students never move to a new skill level until they have demonstrated the physical readiness to do so safely.
What to wear
Form-fitting, stretchy athletic wear — leggings and fitted tank or sports bra. Bare feet. No loose clothing that could catch during tumbling.
Safety protocol
All skills are spotted by certified instructors until mastery is demonstrated. No student will be asked to attempt a skill they are not physically ready for.
Progression
Students advance through a structured skill tree based on demonstrated strength, flexibility, and technical control — never based on age or peer comparison.
